Lindley's Blazing Star (Mentzelia lindleyi) is a superbly stunning annual flower native to California and Arizona that is heat and drought tolerant once established and thrives in average to poor well-drained soils. The beautiful star-shaped blooms appear silky and grow to be 3" across & sweetly scented! These open in the afternoon to reveal over a hundred or more long stamens. This species also does well in containers. It is an important source of food for native bees and bumble bees. Perfect for rock gardens, sandy soils, dry gardens, full sun, container gardens, and more. Well-draining soil is a must as this plant is not tolerant of wet soils.
Germination: Sow seeds in Spring just below soil surface at around 70F and keep moist. Can be sown and grown in containers
