Sand Evening Primrose is a little-known biennial wildflower native to the US that produces tall masses of fragrant, gold-yellow flowers. The flowers are striking when walking or driving by, sure to turn heads to your garden.
Sand Evening Primrose is fairly easy to grow and tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions. It is also relatively drought-resistant, making it a good candidate for gardens in hot, dry climates.
This plant flowers for a long period of time, from early summer until late fall. Enjoy its blooms for many months out of the year!
The flowers on this plant attract many pollinators to your garden, bringing in biodiversity and supporting local wildlife! Much of the life cycle of the stunning pink Primrose Moth (Schinia florida) can be in the Evening Primrose plant. The small green larvea of the Primrose Moth will feed on the flowers and seed of the plant and the adult moth can often be found resting on the yellow flowers, pollinating them in the process.
Seeds germinate in cool/warm soil from late fall to early spring
