Very rare in cultivation and hard to find seeds. Dalea tenuis, or Slender Prairie Clover, is a beautiful perennial that is endemic to a narrow distribution in the state of Texas. It is characterized by slender, upright stems and feathery, pinnately compound leaves. Its inflorescences are dense spikes of small but bright purple flowers that bloom in late spring through summer. This plant is extremely drought tolerant that naturally grows in dry or rocky limestone substrates with low fertility in full to partial sun. It is a perfect plant for prairie restorations, rock gardens, or the well-draining and dry spots in the garden! Preferably plant in late fall or early Spring in well-draining soil, best in limestone-based soils.
