Tenpetal Anemone is a perennial Anemone native to the Southeast US and mostly Texas. It features colored sepals that range from white, lavender, to pink and purple.Wind-flower is one of the first plants to bloom in the spring, then it goes dormant in the summer. The small plants produce flowers up to 1.5 inches across. Seeds fly away in the breeze, giving the plant its common name
Windflower is primarily pollinated by native bees and beetles in early spring. The open, nectar-rich flowers attract a variety of pollinators, including butterflies, and serve as a crucial early-season resource in Texas prairies and woodlands
It prefers well-draining sandy or rocky, calcareous soils. Can grow in part-shade and even full sun
Germination: Best when sown in Fall, or cold-stratify for 4 weeks in moist sand.
